Memphis Lectures

Every year starting on the last Sunday in March the Memphis School of Preaching has their annual lectureship. This year's theme was "In God We Trust" and they had many speakers on the topic. They have childcare throughout the day for the smaller children. We took Brody to the childcare last year but only for maybe 2 hours out of the day. I think it's good for Brody to be around other children and other adults so I tried to put him into the childcare more this year. He did fine and even napped some for the teachers, but it was still hard for me to leave him. :( I'm with him all day, every day and it was hard to leave him in somebody else's care when I was fully capable of watching him all day.

Kyle attended the School of Preaching from 2006-2008. We made some really good friends while we were there and along with the great speakers, the lectures are a great time to see those good friends. We usually had either lunch or dinner plans with friends everyday and would hang out after the evening lecture each night. Kyle's Dad always comes to the lectures also. He loves hanging out with Brody, and Brody loves it too! When I would pick him up from the childcare I would say "Let's go find Dad and Pop!" and he'd start saying "Pop! Pop! Pop!" He sure loves his Pop! Pop and Brody had a great week hanging out.

We love going to the M.S.O.P. Lectures every year to hear great speakers and hang out with family and good friends! :)

Every year for our Anniversary we usually go to Texas De Brazil. If you like meat, you'd like this restaurant! We signed up and get an email for a buy-one-get-one-free dinner every year for our anniversary. We get one coupon each so we usually invite Kyle's dad to go with us. This year he wanted to watch Brody for us instead so we took friends with us to dinner. On our way there we decided to look at the coupon and instead of a buy-one-get-one-free it was enjoy a complimentary champagne or dessert with a regular priced dinner. Well, we weren't paying $100 for a free dessert! So we turned around and decided to eat at Genghis Grill instead. We've been married for 6 years and were able to enjoy our dinner at Texas De Brazil for 5 of them. Thanks, Texas De Brazil, for ruining our anniversary tradition!! We were sad that we didn't get to eat at one of our favorite restaurants, but we made sure we stopped by the Crepe Maker for a dessert crepe!

We only got pictures on Kyle's phone, so they may not be the best, but it's what we've got!
