On April, 2nd, Brody turned 18 months old! 1 1/2 years! Yay! I've got such a big boy. :) He still LOVES his videos and we put them in a CD case so he could flip through and pick the one he wants to watch himself. Mommy and Daddy still help him take it out of the CD case and put it into the DVD player because our DVDs are starting to become scratched. He can even verbally ask for the DVD he wants which helps too. He has recently added Talking Hands to the list of videos he likes to watch. This is an out-dated DVD of sign language that is hilarious to watch because of the people in it, but not the most entertaining in my book, but Brody likes it! He also likes the (boring to me) Signing Time Practice DVD that practices numbers and counting. He is so not into cartoons! He prefers videos with real people in them like his Signing Time DVDs, Talking Hands, and Barney. All pretty educational if you ask me!
Brody has learned to open the cabinet under the fish tank - by taking both hands and hitting/pushing it really hard until it pops open! He then takes out the correct carton of fish food and asks if he can feed the fish. He patiently holds his hand out while we pour the food into his hand and then he dumps his hand over the water. He loves feeding animals and often asks to give the cat and dog treats throughout the day.
Brody has been able to work an iPhone and and iTouch for quite a while. He can turn it on, unlock it, scroll through the screens, and pick what he wants to play. He has now been learning how to use the Kindle. He can turn it on and most of the time unlock it. He gets a little frustrated sometimes because it's not as easy as the iTouch. I've downloaded a lot of free Apps for him to play with and he asks for it by saying "This!" probably because he would ask for it and we weren't sure what he wanted so we'd say "This?" He's my funny boy.
A few weeks ago, while we were at my parent's house, Brody and my Dad were playing outside with his baseballs. Brody did something and my dad said "Holy Cow!" and Brody will now repeat that in his own Brody language. Haha. It sounds like "Ha Caaaa!!"
Some of Brody's favorite songs are Itsy Bitsy Spider (his most favorite since birth!), Head and Shoulders, Knees, and Toes (where he can correctly locate Head, Knees and Toes), If You're Happy and You Know It, The Lord's Army, The Green Grass Grows All Around (from Barney), and Mr. Sun (also from Barney).
Kyle and Brody like to play and fight a lot. Nobody can get Brody giggling like his Daddy can! Kyle will "play the guitar" with Brody's arm, and he also plays the "Uh-Oh Monster" with Brody. To play the "Uh-Oh Monster" Kyle will lift Brody's arm in the air while holding his hand over Brody. He will open and close his hand while saying "Uh-Oh! Uh-Oh!" and then he'll drop his hand and tickle Brody. Brody has started requesting the "Uh-Oh Monster" by lifting his arm and saying "uh-oh!". It's pretty cute!!
We love our little boy and I'm sure I'm leaving out tons of stuff he can now do that he hasn't done before. He seems to learn something new everyday and I love being a stay at home mom so I can witness all of his new games and tricks and songs!
